Accomplishments include the:
• Development of a Pedestrian Safety Program
• Creation of a Dog Park and Skate Park
• Construction of an Animal Shelter
• Preservation of open space on Harrell Avenue
• Improved parking downtown and in Sewaren
• Property tax relief for veterans
• Creation of an annual "Support Our Troops" rally
• Rebuilding of the Woodbridge Proper Honor Roll Monument
• Installation of a "Reverse 911" system
• Improved railroad crossing on Woodbridge Avenue in Sewaren
• $2.2 million in county funds for improvements to the Woodbridge
High School baseball fields
• $1 million in corporate contributions for the Woodbridge High
School turf football field
Charlie wants to continue to improve the quality of life for residents; for families and children, for seniors and veterans.
If re-elected, Charlie will work to:
• Secure a state-of-the-art communications system for First
Responders
• Expand Neighborhood Quiet Zones around train track
intersections
• Continue making improvements to Woodbridge's parks
and playgrounds
• Expand the dog park
• Improve Oak Avenue Field
• Modernize the intersection of Route 9 and Main Street
• Upgrade Fulton Street sewers and repave the road
• Leverage façade grants to improve Woodbridge's business
districts
Charlie is an important member of Mayor John E. McCormac's Team to create better neighborhoods throughout the entire community.
The McCormac Team's Town-wide Accomplishments:
• Cracked down on illegal housing
• Increased property maintenance enforcement
• Built a state-of-the-art animal shelter
• Introduced free bulk waste pick-up and a recycling drop-off center
• Improved parks and playgrounds and added open space
• Shared and consolidated services with other
municipalities and our school district
• Installed solar panels on municipal buildings
• Improved Senior Citizen programs such as Tommy Tool Box
• Received recognition as a Wellness Community and a
Preserve America Town
• Brought more special events and arts programs to Woodbridge,
such as a Farmers Market, Senior Olympics, Big Wheels Day,
Music on Main, Woodbridge Idol, Woodbridge Youth
Community Players, New Horizons Band and the Community Chorus
