Rick has worked hard
to improve the quality of
life in Fords, Hopelawn and Keasbey
during his 16 years as Second Ward
Councilman. He has focused his
efforts on helping families, veterans
and senior citizens by keeping our
streets safe and making improvements
to our neighborhoods.
As a long-time Councilman and a
Commissioner with the Woodbridge
Redevelopment Agency, Rick is a
proven leader in providing quality
services for residents while holding
the line on spending.
Rick is a proud lifelong resident of
Fords, where he lives with his wife,
Carol. The couple has two children;
Christine, 23 and Kevin, 21.

Serving you, Rick has led efforts to:
• Renovate Hopelawn Park: including installation of playground
equipment, creation of walking trails and improvements
to the ballfields
• Install new playground equipment in parks in Keasbey
• Begin the revitalization of the Fords downtown: obtaining
county funds to renovate New Brunswick Avenue with
new pavers, decorative lighting and improved corridors
• Upgrade the intersection of Ford Avenue and Main Street
• Initiate the milling and paving road program throughout Woodbridge
• Create the Hopelawn Redevelopment Project
• Secure federal money for a façade improvement project
• Create the Do Not Drop/Do Not Knock program
• Continue improvements to the intersection of Ford Avenue
and Route 1
• Make improvements to Fords Park
If re-elected, Rick will work to:
• Create a performing arts center at the old Fords Theater
on New Brunswick Avenue
• Redevelop the Keasbey brownfields by bringing in
eco-friendly businesses
• Target redevelopment areas in Hopelawn and attract new
neighborhood-friendly businesses
In his lengthy career in public service, Rick has served with distinction as Council Vice President and Council President. He is an important member of Mayor John E. McCormac's Team, working to create better neighborhoods through the entire community.
The McCormac Team's Town-wide Accomplishments:
• Cracked down on illegal housing
• Increased property maintenance enforcement
• Built a state-of-the-art animal shelter
• Introduced free bulk waste pick-up and a recycling drop-off center
• Improved parks and playgrounds and added open space
• Shared and consolidated services with other
municipalities and our school district
• Installed solar panels on municipal buildings
• Improved Senior Citizen programs such as Tommy Tool Box
• Received recognition as a Wellness Community and a
Preserve America Town
• Brought more special events and arts programs to Woodbridge,
such as a Farmers Market, Senior Olympics, Big Wheels Day,
Music on Main, Woodbridge Idol, Woodbridge Youth
Community Players, New Horizons Band and the Community Chorus
