Automated trash and recycling pickup will expand to 5,300 more households in the township beginning next month.
The Township Council last week approved the $1.55 million purchase of three new automated garbage trucks to add to its existing three-truck fleet, along with 10,500 more trash and recycling bins.

WOODBRIDGE -- Woodbridge housing inspectors today raided an Iselin home the owners operated as an illegal rooming house, offering up to 15 beds at daily, weekly and monthly rates, township officials said.
Inspectors found seven people were staying at the Willow Avenue address, almost directly across Route 27 from the Metropark train station -- a location officials said is advertised on the internet and attracted commuters.
