Woodbridge and Perth Amboy will share a $1 million federal grant to fund assessments of suspected contaminated sites.

Connie Elek spent years collecting pottery and ceramics. Then one fateful day 15 years ago, she asked an artist: How do you do it?

About five months ago, Kathleen Wyatt, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, fell down, broke her leg, got a cast, and then developed an infection that kept her in the hospital for about two months.

Police have charged two high school students with setting a fire that destroyed a $25,000 jungle gym at an Avenel playground Monday night, township officials said Wednesday.
Amanda Gacina, 18, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested Tuesday night, hours after police began investigating the suspected arson at Fifth District Park on Avenel Street. Both are Avenel residents and attend Colonia High School, township spokesman John Hagerty said.
